What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell her to don’t be so tough on herself, there is no need to hide, no need to not wear a nice outfit just so she won’t be noticed! That her body is beautiful the way it is, her hair is stunning and she doesn’t need to tie it up so people won’t see it! That she shines and she doesn’t need to lose weight or straighten her hair to be accepted.

How would you describe your relationship with your body?

I have gone through a long journey of self-acceptance to finding self-love, and honestly, I love every single detail on my body. I would not change anything about it right now, I have never been so happy in my skin.

When do you feel most confident?

Probably when I am dancing. I feel happy, beautiful, sexy haha all the good things come out of me when I am dancing!

What advice would you give to your younger self?

The advice I’d give myself is to trust myself more and worry about the opinions of other people a lot less. I think since I’ve gotten older I love things that aren’t necessarily the norm and just really trusting myself and knowing that if other people agree with it or don’t, it’s about how I feel about myself is the most important thing.

How would you describe your relationship with your body?

As a young girl, my relationship with my body was not always very positive, I don’t think we ever had positive role models that we have today and because of that my body image has improved a lot over the years. I see a lot of diversity, inclusion and fashion advertising and I think that really positively impacts a lot on women. I think maturity also allows you to appreciate your body for what it does and what it allows you to do.

When do you feel most confident?
I feel most confident when I’m making choices that make me feel the most happy and I’m not worried about if I have approval. Whenever I trust my own feelings and what I think is when I feel the most confident.

Confidence to me isn’t needing to compare myself to other people or worry about how other people view me because that’s often their own subjective opinion. Especially going grey I had to appreciate that a lot of people have social conditioning that leads them to feel a certain way about grey hair. I love my grey hair and I think it's fabulous and that’s all that matters.
