Fabric

This bikini top is made with a recycled, blended Nylon fabric crafted from ocean waste. This nylon blend has a more relaxed fit than our classic recycled polyester bikini tops. If you are after sculpting and shape-wear like qualities in this product we do recommend sizing down.

Our signature Italian swimwear fabrics are made using regenerated nylon thread from pre and post-consumer waste.This luxuriously soft, yet firm fabric offers bust support for A to H cup. As this piece features shape-controlling properties and high technical performance, please expect it to feel firmer than regular swimwear.

Not exactly! While our suits are true to Australian standard sizing, it’s common for women to size down in Baiia suits. The reason for this is because we most commonly recommend sizes based on measurements rather than dress sizes, so many women find their best fit in a different size to what they typically wear in clothing. 

If two or more of your measurements fit within one size, we tend to recommend that one for the perfect fit. If your measurements span three or more sizes, we tend to recommend taking the one in the middle. If you feel you have a particularly short or long torso, you may find a better fit in one size down or up. We suggest emailing us at fitexpert@baiia.com.au prior to purchase if you have any questions or concerns about your correct size.

Our fabrics are resistant to suncream and oils, but we still recommend taking care when wearing sunscreen and/or makeup, as well as taking care to remove marks as soon as possible to prevent staining.

A common ingredient in sunscreen known as avobenzone can contribute to stains, so you may wish to use sunscreens without this component.

The major difference between the two styles is how many pieces they're composed of.

​The 3-piece Wrapsuit consists of 1 chest piece, 1 body piece and 1 detachable tie; all together they complete a full swimsuit, which you can then reverse, and mix & match with other Wrapsuits to create multiple unique looks. ​

​The 4-piece Bikini consists of the Bikini top made of 2 chest pieces and 1 detachable tie, and the ultra-high waisted Bikini Bottom  - equalling 4 pieces when purchased all together! The Bikini can be worn like a classic Bikini style or made to look like a Wrapsuit, as well as mix & matched with other Bikinis.

I love the suit but

"I love the suit but it was too small. I sent it back over 5 weeks ago for a size exchange and still have not received an officially email 2 weeks ago and received a reply that it would be processed soon but have not received any further communication. The suit was expensive and I am getting frustrated. Your company seems to be able to send a large volume of media advertisements and almost daily marketing emails but poor customer updated on the status of refunds/ exchanges. I love love love love

"I love love love love the black with white edging bikini wrap top. I'm 5'4" and wear a 42D bra. The wrap top fits great and I'm now inspired to get the one piece wrap top. I didn't purchase a bikini bottom because years ago I weighed 210 and the last five years have held at 160 pounds. I'm 73 and the skin on my inner thighs at the top is a bit wrinkled. I've purchase a swim-skirt in a black and white palm leaf print that covers that problem area. The skirt is a bit longer than I'd like it, but I do feel comfortable in it. Is a swim-skirt something you might introduce in the future?"

This is such a great

"This is such a great top! I absolutely adore this and I own three of them! I have found they stretch out a bit with wear so I sized down in this top and I am so happy I did! I am 5'7" and 145lbs with a 34C chest. I have typically ordered a US6 but went down to a US4 in this top and it takes a few wears and swims to get it stretched and perfect but now it fits PERFECTLY! It was definitely a little tight the first few wears though! This print is gorgeous and the blue color is so pretty! I got so many compliments on this one! Love it!"

"I have purchased two Baiia reversible wrap tops with reversible bottoms in Brasilia and Samba and they are absolutely gorgeous, flattering, and so versatile. I’ve had them for two months and haven’t worn the same combination twice. They are tricky to get on and off when you’re wet as the fabric is really strong and tight fitting like shapewear. I also have the Brasilia kaftan and it’s perfect. I’ve gotten so many compliments already."

"I wanted to love this, but I found that my chest fell a bit flat in it and it wasn’t flattering. I am exchanging it for the new one piece wrap top, but the process has taken a month and I’m still waiting on my store credit for the exchange. Q&A

Behind the Design

It was 2016, I had just stepped into womanhood, and with that, was accepting the new shape my body was taking. I was looking for a swimsuit that actually made me look like the woman I knew I was, but was also becoming. Something that accentuated my shape, held me the way I now needed to be held, moved with my body across every season of my life, and came from a place of care for the environment around me. I couldn’t find it. So I decided to make it myself.

I became hooked on creating the dream swimsuit, pieces that didn’t ask you to mould yourself into them, but instead moulded themselves around you. Reversible designs that give you more, unique sizing that honours your shape instead of boxing it, cuts that work whether you’re 29 or 79, pre-baby or post-everything.

Before I knew it, I found myself surrounded by an incredible community of women from everywhere, every size, every stage. They weren’t looking for the “latest trend” or an Instagram moment in a bikini. They just needed swimwear that actually worked:

  • Pieces that held them, supported them, made them feel like themselves
    Reversible cuts that gave them options, not limitations
  • Sizing that didn’t make them feel like they had to change to fit the mould
    Designs that moved through their seasons with them, not against them

That’s what Baiia is built on, women supporting women, and the belief that feeling good in a swimsuit shouldn’t require you to change yourself. That’s the swimsuit’s job.

I’m not here to make aspirational pieces for photoshoots. I’m here to make timeless designs that make you feel held, supported, celebrated, exactly as you are, even on the days you don’t feel like it. Because you deserve swimwear that loves you back.
