In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting Amelia, 36 - model, mum, and content creator - whose authenticity will always inspires us. She finds empowerment in simply being herself and encourages other women to also embrace all they are. Her message: be kind to your body.
What is one moment you overcame self-doubt or any imposter syndrome?
Recently, I had a moment where I chose to overcome self-doubt. I started feeling like just another “drop in the ocean” online and questioning what made me different - until it clicked. The only thing that sets me apart is being 100% myself. I had to push past the negative thoughts and remind myself that authenticity is something no one can replicate or take away - and that’s my biggest strength.
What's your non-negotiable or something you'll never settle on?
I’ll never settle on choosing the cheaper/less sustainable option. I always thank myself when I invest in something really well made and ethical. It wins every time for me.
If you could accelerate change in one area for women, what would it be?
I’d accelerate lasting change in the body positivity space - it shouldn’t be a trend. I want people to truly love their bodies instead of comparing themselves or chasing what’s popular. Our bodies are more than what the media says they should be.
Three words to describe the woman of today?
Bold, brave and honest.
What are some words of advice to other incredible women there navigating motherhood or changes in their body?
Ignore what you see on social media that tells you to look or feel a certain way after having a baby. Your body has just created magic and it deserves peace and happiness. Your mind may play tricks on you throughout this time but it’s important to remember to be kind to yourself. You’re doing an amazing job.
